The countdown is on as Hamilton’s Forge FC soccer club is set to start the 2024 Canadian Premier League (CPL) season at Tim Hortons Field on Saturday, April 13 at 4 PM.

The team has already been preparing for the upcoming season for a number of weeks and the team has announced exclusive giveaways and matchday themes for fans throughout the year.

First, the club announced that all fans in attendance at the season opener on April 13 will receive “a limited edition 2023 CPL Champions replica medal, commemorating the team’s triumphs.”

Forge won the CPL final last season.

At the season opener Forge will also be unveiling their new championship banner.

In another big announcement, Forge unveiled their primary and alternate playing kits for the 2024 season at a special Kit Launch Party.

The jerseys are designed by sportswear company Macron.

The colour for the primary kit is Forge FC’s iconic orange.

A press release notes that the jersey “boasts an abstract geometrical pattern, portraying sparks flying from a hammer in action – a nod to the relentless spirit and determination of the club.”

In terms of the alternate kit, whereas last year’s design was primarily grey in colour, the club will now be wearing a white jersey.

“Embracing the city’s natural beauty, this kit showcases the club’s unique waterfall white look, portraying a subtle yet powerful nod to the mesmerizing force of water crashing down at the bottom of a waterfall,” states a press release.

“Forge FC’s 2024 alternate kit is a stunning tribute to the captivating allure of Hamilton, renowned as the waterfall capital of the world.”

Forge FC has also announced special matchday experiences coming to Tim Hortons Field for the season, including a special School Day Match on May 7, a Forging the Future Match on June 23, and Signature Match on August 10.

Forge’s first-ever School Day Match will kick off on Tuesday, May 7 at 11 AM, with students across Hamilton expected to pack the stadium.

The Forging the Future Match will be a day where “young fans take centre stage.”

The team says that kids will participate “in all the matchday festivities, from player walkouts to junior PA announcers, and junior matchday hosts.”

At the Signature Match on August 10, the club will be providing a full team autograph session on the pitch after the game and fans will be able to collect “limited edition player cards.”

Additionally, at every single match this season fans can experience the Stipley Fan Zone presented by Findlay Personal Injury Lawyers and Families on the Pitch presented by Tim Hortons.

The Fan Zone features player autograph sessions, face painting, giveaways, inflatables, lawn games, mascots, and more before each home match.

Families on the Pitch allows families to play on the field, pose for photos, and get autographs from players after every home match.

As for Forge’s performance on the pitch, it remains to be seen whether or not the team will repeat as champions once again.
